Duke Model United Nations
February 20th, 2026 — February 22nd, 2026
The premier Model UN conference in the Southern United States for high schoolers held on Duke University’s historic West Campus.
About DUMUNC
DUMUNC is one of the premier high school model United Nations conferences in the country. Serving 400 delegates annually from over 12 different countries, it is a fun-filled weekend hallmarked by discussion, innovation, and community building. Throughout the three-day conference, delegates are charged with the task of addressing and resolving some of the world’s most pressing issues. Delegates will engage in meaningful and stimulating debate, and may be presented with crises and predicaments that extend beyond the scope of their original topics. It is the goal of DUMUNC to challenge delegates during committee, and allow them to learn from both our committed staff and their talented peers. DUMUNC features General Assemblies, Specialized and Crisis Committees, along with Joint Crisis Committees and an Ad Hoc of the Secretary General, all of which will be run by our knowledgeable and motivated student-led dais.
Letter from the Secretary Generals
Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
On behalf of the Duke International Relations Association (DIRA), it is our honor to welcome you all to the fortieth session of the Duke University Model United Nations Conference (DUMUNC), taking place from February 20th to 22nd, 2026 on Duke University’s beautiful West Campus.
We cannot wait to showcase all the hard work that we and our staff have undertaken throughout the past year to make this iteration of DUMUNC the absolute best it can be. As the premier Model UN conference in the Southern United States, we hope to provide a weekend full of debate, intellectual growth, and enriching experiences both inside and outside of the committee rooms.
This year of DUMUNC is a complete overhaul and elevation of an already successful and longstanding conference: the 41st session is anticipated to have more staffers and delegates than ever before, and we are excited to announce the move of the conference to the historic West Campus. Additionally, this year will feature an all new website, enrichment workshops between committee sessions, Duke Campus tours, and opportunities to support local charities and purchase mementos from the conference. We look forward to seeing the thoughtful ideas and discourse that delegates put forth throughout the weekend.
More information regarding committees, registration, and other conference logistics can be found throughout our website. If there are any questions or concerns between now and the beginning of the conference that cannot be answered by our website, please don’t hesitate to reach out to dukedumunc@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you all on campus in February!
Best regards,
Sarah Riedman and Alexandra Himmel
